"We are what we believe we are." -- Aristotle
This New Year is filled with possibilities. We have so many plans and goals but here's the most important lesson we can learn. If you want to live your best life, you have to take charge of your mind.
From the moment you wake up until you fall asleep, thoughts are churning. Unfortunately, they tend to dwell on the negative or are constantly criticizing. We must make the choice to be aware of our mind and choose different thoughts to dwell upon.
It's that easy, and that difficult.
How do you start your day? Here's a great way - think about something you are grateful for and something you did really well the day before. Beginning the day with gratitude and celebration is a fantastic way to build a positive foundation.
Next, shower time. Whether it's soaping up or just getting under the water, make these acts trigger another positive thought. Maybe it's about someone you love. Or something you love about yourself!
Spending a few minutes journaling and communing with God gets the GPS going. When we're guided by our hearts, we're opening ourselves up to the Universe to do BIG things...and to spread love and light throughout the day.
Does it seem like you're racing through the day? Try writing down three things you want to accomplish. I like to do it the day before or first thing in the morning. The hours in a day go so quickly and we want to make the most of them. By limiting ourselves to three things, it leaves space to catch our breath. It's our breath that is most important. It balances our emotions and adds a dose of much needed peace.
Create cheerleaders throughout your house with loving post-its. Try putting a photo of something you desire in 2017 on a mirror you look at every day. It's a great reminder to stop and remember to visualize and feel your dream coming true!
Last but not least...At the end of the day identify the 3 things you are grateful for. Feel the love. Then think of one thing you did that makes you feel super good about yourself.
Feel the love again.
Become aware of your thoughts in 2017. Live your best life by choosing to focus on your best thoughts.
"You are today where your thoughts have brought you. You will be tomorrow where your thoughts take you." -- James Allen
